A model CV works alongside your portfolio, digitals and comp card. Agencies, casting directors and brands use it to check your measurements, representation, experience and reliability at a glance, so a strong model CV is short, accurate and easy to scan. It lists the shows, campaigns, editorials and commercial bookings you have done, and makes your agency and availability clear.
Whether you are a new face looking for representation, a commercial or fitness model, a parts model or an established fashion model, the structure below works for modelling work in the UK. Choose one of the model CV templates above for a polished, ATS-friendly layout, then use the example and tips on this page to present your bookings and measurements professionally.

Key skills
Runway walk · E-commerce and catalogue posing · Taking direction · Movement for video · Hair and make-up readiness · Professional reliability
Measurements and stats
Give height in feet and centimetres, then bust or chest, waist and hips in inches, UK dress or suit size, shoe size, hair colour and eye colour. Keep them accurate and current: agencies and clients book on these numbers, and a mismatch on set damages trust quickly.
Agency representation and contact
If you are signed, name your mother agency and any other agencies, and make clear whether bookings should go through them. Include your email, phone, city and a link to your online portfolio or agency page rather than your home address.
Modelling experience and credits
List shows, campaigns, editorials, e-commerce, commercials and promotional work, most recent or most impressive first. Describe the type of brand and work rather than sharing confidential details, and include numbers where they help, such as shows walked or looks shot per day.
Portfolio, digitals and comp card
Your CV should point to your book. Add a link to an up-to-date portfolio with recent digitals (natural, unretouched photos in plain clothing) and mention that your comp card is available. Keep your social media professional if you include it.
Training, skills and memberships
Add useful skills such as dance, sport, movement for video, languages, driving licence and acting experience, plus memberships like Equity. Fitness models can add personal training qualifications, and promotional models can add an APLH personal licence qualification or food safety certificate.

New face / aspiring model
Recent sixth-form leaver, 5ft 10in (178cm) with a UK dress size 6, looking for agency representation as a fashion model. I have completed test shoots with local photographers, walked in two charity fashion shows and bring a background in dance, good posture and confidence in front of the camera. Available for castings across the North West and London.
Commercial or fitness model
Commercial and fitness model with six years of TV, print and e-commerce work for sportswear, supermarket and health brands. I am a Level 3 personal trainer, comfortable demonstrating exercise technique on camera, and known for natural expressions, reliability and quick direction-taking on busy shoot days.
Established fashion model
Fashion and runway model with ten years of international experience across London, Paris and Milan fashion weeks, represented by a London mother agency. I have fronted campaigns for luxury and contemporary labels, shot editorials for UK and European titles and mentor new faces on castings and set etiquette.
- Lead with your measurements and agency. Bookers want your height, sizes and representation first. Put them near the top in a clear format so they can be checked in seconds.
- Show variety and quality of work. Group or order your credits so the strongest stand out: major shows, national campaigns and well-known publications first, then e-commerce, catalogue and test shoots.
- Keep digitals and stats up to date. Update your CV and digitals whenever your hair, measurements or look changes. Clients expect you to arrive looking like your book.
- Add transferable skills. Dance, sport, acting, languages and customer-facing jobs all help, especially for commercial, fitness and promotional work where you may need to move, perform or talk to the public.
- Stay professional and safe. Use a professional email address, avoid sharing your home address, and be wary of anyone asking for large upfront fees. Reputable agencies earn commission from your bookings.
Should a model CV include a photo?+
Yes, unlike most UK CVs. A small, recent headshot or digital is acceptable on a model CV because your look is part of the job, but your main images belong in your portfolio and comp card. Use a natural, well-lit photo rather than a heavily edited one, and link to your full book.
What measurements should I put on a modelling CV?+
Include height in feet and centimetres, bust or chest, waist and hips in inches, UK dress or suit size, shoe size, and hair and eye colour. Men often add inside leg and collar size. Parts models should add the relevant details, such as glove or ring size for hands. Make sure every figure is accurate and recent.
How do I write a model CV with no experience?+
Focus on your stats, look and potential. Include test shoots, school or charity fashion shows, dance, drama or sport, and part-time jobs that show reliability and confidence. Keep it to one page, attach a few natural digitals, and explain your availability and the type of modelling you want to do.
How long should a model CV be?+
One page is ideal. Agencies and casting teams look at your images first, so your CV should be a quick, accurate summary of measurements, representation, key credits and skills. Established models can list selected credits rather than every booking, and keep a longer client list ready if an agency asks for it.
Do I need an agency to work as a model in the UK?+
Not always, but most fashion and commercial work in the UK is booked through agencies, which handle castings, negotiating fees and usage, contracts and payment in return for commission. Freelance models can find promotional, fitness and small brand work directly, but should use written agreements and take care with safety.
Should I list my social media on a model CV?+
If your profile is professional and relevant, yes. Many clients look at a model's Instagram or TikTok, and a strong following can help with commercial and influencer bookings. Keep personal accounts private and only link to profiles that show your modelling work.
